How to Stay Motivated to Exercise

You tend to lose our motivational juice to keep exercising a few days after you pumped yourself up to start exercising. The motivation wares off and putting time in to exercise into your schedule begins to feel like a heavy duty chore that you don’t want to do.

Why do we begin to exercise then? When does the motivation begin to fizzle out and we find ourselves not wanting to continue on the fitness journey anymore. Staying motivated to exercise can seem impossible and daunting at times, but it is possible to get going. There are ways for you to can make your fitness activities enjoyable.

If you feel like you are beginning to lose your motivation to start exercising, reading inspirational fitness quotes is a good place to start finding your motivation. Keep them near you or in your phone. When you start to feel like giving up, you can read the quotes to help remind you why you started exercising in the beginning.

Change the exercise methods every day. Sometimes, you lose motivation to keep exercising because you do the same exercise routines every day. So change your routine up a bit. One day let it be leg and core day. The following day, let your workout routine centre around arm exercises. When the moment comes where you feel like you can no longer keep going, you will be reminded of your friend and will get motivated to keep going because having another person relying on you to keep going, will motivate you to also keep going for your friend.

When you feel like giving up, you will remember the goals you set for yourself to reach.
After setting goals for yourself and then achieving them, don’t forget to reward yourself. When you are achieving the goal you set for yourself, take yourself out for a day at the Spa to get a massage.

You can reward yourself by buying new exercise gear that you can exercise in. Go out and have a time you socialising with your friends. Rewarding yourself each time you complete your workout goals will give you the motivation you need to keep go through with your workout.

Make your exercises a fun experience. Take part in sports or activities that you can be able to enjoy. If the workouts that you’re are doing are beginning to bore you, then try something that will keep you motivated. You can also mix up your workout routine by adding dancing classes.

Instead of doing one of your planned exercising plan, go join a salsa or breakdancing class that you will be able to have fun in. By mixing up your workout routines will make your exercising more fun and keep you motivated throughout your fitness journey.

Making and including physical activity in your daily routine can sometimes feel like a heavy task to do. Your ability to stay motivated becomes tested as time goes on during your workout routine.
